Welcome to one of my favorite places in the world… home.
Residents of Katy enjoy the wide-open spaces, award-winning communities and most of all, friendly faces. Katy, TX and the larger unincorporated area also known as the Greater Katy Area, is located 30 miles west of downtown Houston along the Interstate 10 Energy Corridor. Living in Katy offers a comfortable, small-town atmosphere with
all the wonderful advantages of its close proximity to our nation’s 4th largest city. Access and commuting to Houston has never been easier, as Katy lies just off Interstate 10, The Grand Parkway and the Westpark Tollway.
Katy has been experiencing a thriving economy, enormous growth and also, enjoys its ranking as one of the hottest real estate markets in the Houston area. Our nationally-recognized Katy Independent School District and beautiful Master-planned communities are just a few of the reasons to relocate to our area.

We have numerous, new medical centers planned or currently under construction, providing a complete menu of available local services – St. Luke’s, Methodist, Texas Children’s, MD Anderson Radiation Center, Apex and Hermann Memorial are just a few medical providers making Katy the new “Medical Center West”. As for retail, celebrating its one year anniversary is Phase I of the impressive La Centera Shopping Village with many high-end to mid-range anchor stores and restaurants, all conveniently located within Cinco Ranch just off the Grand Parkway. Phase II is expected to be underway soon with more restaurants and a high-rise loft complex. Another great development is the Villagio Shopping Center with restaurants, great shopping and fabulous courtyard. Katy is also referred to as the “City of Churches”, and offers a wide variety of places to worship

Living in Katy is truly a family experience, with special focus on our children. We are very proud of our Katy Independent School District, a flourishing suburban school district that encompasses 181 square miles in east Texas. Its eastern boundaries stretch to Houston's energy corridor approximately 16 miles west of downtown Houston and extend along Interstate 10 to a few miles west of the city of Katy. In the 2007-08 school year, the projected student enrollment has grown to more than 55,000 served by 47 schools, including six high schools. Highly ranked by the Texas Education Agency, Katy ISD offers an outstanding instructional program with facilities, equipment and materials that are among the best in the state. Our students benefit from a wide-variety of programs, including Community Education, Summer Programs, Gifted and Talented Programs, Vocational Education, Vocational Agriculture, Special Education, Athletics/Physical Education and Alternative Education.
For these reasons and so much more… You will want to come home to Katy, too.
