Are You Registered to Vote?
Click here for an application for Voter Registration. State law requires you to register 30 days prior to the election in which you wish to vote. Due to the Help America Vote Act which was enacted in September 2003, applicants must now provide a form of identification when registering by mail.
An applicant's spouse, parent, or child (acting as an agent) may complete and sign a Voter Registration Application, provided that the agent is a registered voter, or has applied for voter registration.
To be eligible to register in Texas, you must:
- be a U.S. citizen;
- be a resident of the county;
- be 18 years old (you may register at 17 years and 10 months);
- not a convicted felon (unless a person's sentence is completed, including any probation or parole)
- not mentally incapacitated by a court of law
If you do not register, you cannot vote!
If you do not vote, you cannot COMPLAIN!
